East Renfrewshire residents are being encouraged to help save lives by giving blood.
A team from the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) will be visiting various venues in the local area over the coming months to collect donations.
The next event takes place at St Thomas’ Church Hall, in Neilston, from 4pm until 7.30pm on Monday, November 19.
This will be followed by further donating sessions at Broom Parish Church, in Newton Mearns, on Wednesday, January 23, from 2pm until 3.30pm and 5pm to 7.30pm.
The team will be at St John’s Parish Church Hall, in Barrhead, on Thursday, February 28, from 2pm until 3.30pm and 5pm until 7.30pm.
And another date for your diary is Monday, March 4, when donations will be collected at Montgomerie Hall, in Eaglesham, from 4.30pm until 7.30pm.
A spokesperson for SNBTS said: “Only three per cent of people in Scotland currently give blood but there is a constant need for donors, as blood cannot be stockpiled.”
