IT may not even be Hallowe’en yet...but Royal Mail bosses are already asking customers to be mindful of the last posting dates for Christmas.

The festive period is the busiest time of year for the Parcelforce Worldwide service.

According to the Royal Mail, the Parcelforce team begin planning for Christmas as early as April.

A spokesperson said: “We’ve announced our recommended last posting dates to help our customers plan for Christmas ahead of time.

“Our drivers will be working hard to deliver last-minute purchases and presents during the festive season and we encourage customers to post early ahead of our busiest time of year.”

Parcelforce customers who are posting Christmas gifts abroad to countries in Western Europe, the USA and must send these items by Monday, December 17.

Parcels going to the Republic of Ireland should be sent by Wednesday, December 19, if they are to arrive in time for Christmas.

The recommended last posting date for Parcelforce Worldwide’s ‘Next Day’ UK services is Friday, December 21.
