BARRHEAD Travel has joined a nationwide campaign to make shopping easier for people with autism.
Research shows six out of 10 autistic people never visit shops because they feel intimated by the noise, bright lights and crowds.
In response, staff at Barrhead Travel’s stores at Silverburn and Braehead took part in Autism Hour by turning music down and keeping background noise to a minimum.
Sharon Munro (pictured), president of Barrhead Travel, said: “I was delighted to participate in Autism Hour as it is a subject that is very close to many of our team.”
