NEILSTON’S youngest pupils and their teddy bears raised an astonishing £1,093 to help other children around Scotland this week in 2003.
Youngsters at Madras Nursery proudly announced the success of their recent Teddy Bear Step Out when they took their best teddy bear friends on a walk in aid of NCH Scotland.
It was no picnic for those bears as they and 120 of their friends walked lap after lap to help boost the prominent children’s charity.
Everyone walked around a pre-planned circuit 10 times, with supporting family, friends and neighbours cheering them on.
Headteacher of Madras Nursery, Sandra Carrey, said: “It was absolutely wonderful.
“The parents have been so generous and the children were very involved.
“Cedric the Dragon came along, adding to the occasion. He went around the circuit several times.”
