THREE people are facing trial accused of battering and robbing a man while armed with a machete.
Gary McGuiness, 24, Anthony Brown, 27, and 48-year-old James McNally are alleged to have attacked Shaizad Hussain in Fairway Avenue, Paisley, on June 11 this year.
Prosecutors claim they pulled out a machete, grabbed him by the clothes, rained punches and kicks on his head and body, knocked him to the ground, rifled his pockets and then made off with a mobile phone.
The case against all three men called for the first time in public at Paisley Sheriff Court last week for a pre-trial hearing.
All three pleaded not guilty and the case was adjourned until next month for a trial to take place.
