A NEW boss will be steering the Renfrewshire Leisure ship as the organisation announced a fresh appointment.

Victoria Hollows has been named as Renfrewshire Leisure’s new chief executive as the organisation looks to build on recent success in delivering outstanding sport, cultural and leisure services.

Victoria is a recognised leader within Scotland’s cultural sector and manages some of the UK’s most visited and iconic attractions at Glasgow Museums.

Victoria, who takes up her new post in early December, will lead some 800 staff as the organisation looks to capitalise on recent high-profile initiatives, including the Paisley UK City of Culture 2021 bid.

It comes after current chief executive, Joyce McKellar, announced her plans to retire earlier this year after 13 years at the helm.

Renfrewshire Leisure is responsible for attractions including Paisley Museum and Coats Observatory and also manages sport and leisure facilities, including On-X Linwood and Paisley’s Lagoon Leisure Centre.

Victoria said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining such a dedicated and passionate team.

“It is an honour to have been chosen to lead the company at such an exciting time for the area.”
