Support poured in for a fundraising coffee morning at an East Renfrewshire deli.
The event at Pane e Vino, in Giffnock, raised a whopping £1,323 for the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice.
Bosses at the Italian deli vowed to donate all takings from 9am until noon directly to the hospice, with the total boosted by donations from customers and a raffle which offered a hamper, packed full of goodies, as the prize.
Piero Sarti, owner of Pane e Vino, said: “We were over the moon to raise funds for St Margaret of Scotland Hospice.
“Thank you to everyone who joined us. It was a brilliant morning and we raised a terrific amount of money for charity.”
Opened in 1950, the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice is based in Clydebank and provides 58 in-patient beds for specialist palliative care and hospital-based complex clinical care.
It must raise £40,000 per week to enable staff to continue providing key services.
Professor Leo Martin MBE, hospice chairman, said: “Everyone who turned up at Pane e Vino enjoyed themselves and I would like to thank Piero and all of the staff who worked so hard.
“The team at the hospice are very grateful as it allows us to continue to serve our patients and their families.”
