BARRHEAD residents enjoyed an exhibition on the urban design framework for the regeneration of Barrhead town centre a decade ago, which was on display at the sports centre.
Over a number of months, award winning designers Gillespies worked with the council’s Better Barrhead team and the local community and businesses to produce the framework.
Economic development convener Councillor Tony Buchanan said: “In developing the framework Gillespies have taken on board the ideas and suggestions made at the community events in June and produced a design vision for the town.”
Local residents and businesses were invited to view the exhibition and to fill out a questionnaire.
The first phase of the £3.4 million improvements was set to begin in 2009.
