POLICE appealing for help in finding a man who went missing from Bridge of Weir, have confirmed that he has now been found.

George Brown, 62, was last seen leaving his home in Castle Terrace at around 10am on Thursday.

He had told his wife he was going to the shop but did not return.

Constable Caroline Harrod, from Renfrew Police Station, previously said: “George’s family are very worried about him and enquiries are ongoing to find him.

“George has gone missing before and normally travels by bus using his bus card.

“He has previously travelled to areas including Inverary, Oban and Glasgow.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises George, or has any information regarding his whereabouts, to come forward.

“I would also ask George directly to please get in touch with someone to let us know that he is ok."

In a statement, police confirmed on Saturday: "George Brown, who had been missing from his home in Castle Terrace, Bridge of Weir, since Thursday October 4 has been traced safe and well."
