Magical creatures have been hunting for treasure in the woodlands of East Renfrewshire.

As part of a long weekend of celebrations, children were invited to become elves and fairies at Greenbank Garden, in Clarkston.

Youngsters who went along to the site, run by the National Trust for Scotland, were able to find out their fairy name before beginning a journey of discovery.

The new elves and fairies were given the chance to complete a series of challenges which took them through the gardens and surrounding woodlands at Greenbank.

Activities included a fairy trail in the garden and magic wand-making, as well as the chance for kids to cook up some elf or fairy slime.

Children were also given the opportunity to go foraging in woodland for all the things they needed to host an elf and fairy tea party.

Making the most of the sunny weather over the September weekend, all of the activities gave youngsters the chance to discover the joy of spending time exploring the great outdoors.

Greenbank Garden is a greenspace run to showcase the work of gardeners.
