FORMER pupils from St Luke’s High gathered in Neilston for a reunion, more than 30 years after they finished school.

The Barrhead school’s ‘Class of 1986’ got together at Neilston Bowling Club to turn back the clock.

Organised to align with the year that the former pupils celebrate their 50th birthdays, those who attended were at St Luke’s High between 1980 and 1986.

The event also coincided with another golden birthday, as St Luke’s High itself turned 50 in 2018.

Event organiser Elaine Stewart told the Barrhead News: “The St Luke’s High reunion was a great success. We had a great turnout, even though there were a few last minute call-offs.

“It was such a great reunion that the proposal is for an annual get-together, or at least every second year.”

The event at Neilston Bowling Club was a long time in the making, with a team of five former pupils pulling the whole thing together. Alongside Elaine were Karen Connor, Linda Bruce, Vicky Woods and Pauline Friel.

Around 40 former classmates made it along on the night, with plans already in place for a follow-up event in the future.
