A FUN day out went down a treat at Neilston Parish Church as volunteers hosted its annual Big Breakfast.

The event marked the end of the Summer Club for youngsters in the village, with this year’s fun inspired by ‘Guardians of Ancora’ – a child-friendly mobile game that aims to bring the stories of The Bible to life.

Four days of games, songs and other activities culminated in a family breakfast event on Saturday morning as around 80 children and their family members gathered for a feast.

Well-fed guests were able to take their pick of hot rolls, pastries and fresh fruit as church helpers served up an array of breakfast options.

The Reverend Fiona Maxwell, minister of Neilston Parish Church, said: “It was an excellent week and the team of volunteers very much enjoyed working together and with the children.

“The children always bring so much energy and excitement to it all, with such enthusiasm.”
