Barrhead’s indoor market returned at the weekend, with organisers hailing the event as “a fantastic family day out.”

The monthly event at the Foundry welcomed a host of stalls, with some traders taking part in the market for the first time.

The day was not all about selling, though, with various activities also on offer on site for people of all ages.

There was face-painting for children, while grown-ups could get a glimpse into their future by attending a tarot card reading.

Mini massage sessions were also on offer to help visitors get rid of any stress.

Saturday’s event was the fifth instalment of the indoor market, which started up at the Foundry earlier this year.

This month saw stalls with a fantastic selection of hand-made items, quirky gift ideas, fabulous baked goods and delicious confectionery.

The event provides a platform for local businesses and entrepreneurs to showcase their products to potential customers.

Creative types such as Neilston author Claire Casey were also able to reach out to a new audience.

Hand-made jewellery, beauty products, artwork, knitting, scarves and personalised fittings for around the home could also be bought on Saturday.

The indoor market takes place at the Barrhead Foundry on the second Saturday of the month, with the next event scheduled for Saturday, August 11, between 10am and 3pm.
