SPORTS fans can embrace Wimbledon fever this summer by making a racquet at Rouken Glen Park’s new tennis courts.
A £100,000 investment by East Renfrewshire Council has delivered two public courts to further enhance the much-loved greenspace and offer opportunities for local residents to get involved in sport.
Tennis enthusiasts can use the courts at any time without having to make a booking.
Table tennis is also available, next to the skate park, with equipment stored at the park’s pavilion.
Council leader Tony Buchanan said: “I am thrilled that the two tennis courts at Rouken Glen are now complete and open for the public to practice their serve.
“The tennis courts are a valuable addition to the local area. With courts in Cowan Park, in Barrhead, already popular, we look forward to welcoming tennis players of all abilities to the park.
“Tennis is a great way for people of all ages to keep fit, stay healthy and have fun all year round.”
