EAST Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure's summer art club activities got underway at the weekend, with a new painting and drawing class on Saturday mornings, from 10am, at Eastwood Park Theatre.
The leisurely and laid-back workshop saw new and old members alike come together to embark on a new series of works.
With every artist at different levels of expertise, free to choose their own subject and materials, the class promises to deliver a broad variety of drawings and paintings over the coming weeks.
Technical advice was available from tutor Jeff McDonald.
He said: “Everyone’s at different stages, including complete beginners, so I just offer advice when needed and otherwise let them get on with it.
“I offer instruction in all media but the class is drawing and painting, so oils, acrylics, watercolour and pastel.
“Most people will do landscapes or the occasional figurative painting but it’s up to everyone to decide what they would like to do.
“We have some members who already know each other from other classes and some who are brand new but it’s a very friendly bunch, with a lot of banter.”
Anyone interested in joining the Saturday class, which continues for three more weeks, or the regular classes, which return in August, can contact Eastwood Park Theatre and Gallery on 0141 577 4956 for details.
