THE wonderful weather continued in Barrhead at the weekend as families flocked outdoors to enjoy the sunshine.

Temperatures in the area have consistently been high for more than a week and the weekend was no different, following on from the 30 degree heat of last week.

Cowan Park was one of the many sites which attracted a large crowd, with many travelling there to take advantage of the warmth and hoping to catch some rays on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Barrhead.

As well as the beautiful space and play areas that the park has to offer, there was also a chance for keen tennis fans to get in a set or two ahead of Wimbledon which has started this week.

Tennis for Free is a community initiative which removes any cost barriers for children playing the sport.

Coaches are available to help you improve your game and the afternoons are tailored to all abilities and ages.

This means that sessions are particularly family-friendly, so adults and juniors alike should come along and enjoy the tennis on offer.

With the good weather continuing, this weekend is likely to present another opportunity to get outside and enjoy the summer.

Tennis for Free sessions continue in Barrhead on Saturday, taking place between 1pm and 3pm at the Cowan Park tennis courts.
