Cake enthusiasts are being urged to get involved in a special bake-off to raise money for sick and injured veterans.

The Help for Heroes National Bake for Heroes campaign is encouraging people from all walks of life to make, sell, buy and eat cake, with all proceeds going to servicemen and women who find themselves falling on hard times after fighting for their country in the British Armed Forces.

Each participant hosting their own baking extravaganza, either at home, work or school, can register for a free fundraising pack, which includes decorations, posters and a collection box to help with their campaign.

A spokesperson for the Bake for Heroes initiative said: “The great thing about Bake for Heroes is that anyone can join in.

“I would encourage people to take part in what will be a fun-filled event.”
Bake for Heroes will take place during Armed Forces Week, from Saturday, June 23, to Sunday, July 1.
