A BARRHEAD school received top marks from education watchdogs 15 years ago.
Experts from Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Education put Carlibar Primary under their magnifying glass in January 2003.
Their report revealed that the school’s pupils were receiving all that was best in teaching and learning.
Chalking up top marks were the school’s ‘very high’ quality of pastoral care and ‘very good’ support for pupils with learning difficulties.
The inspectors singled out the work of the communication centre for pupils with specific language and communication disorders and described it as ‘outstanding.’
The care, welfare and protection of pupils also caught the attention of the education watchdogs, as did the leadership of headteacher Lynn Bale.
