PUPILS got their dancing shoes on for a masterclass with Outlander choreographer Rob Heaslip’s Dance Company.
More than 100 students from St Ninian’s High, Giffnock, joined others from Glasgow schools in the session after winning an online competition to learn from the dance troupe ahead of their performance in Freagra: A Blurred Expanse at Eastwood Park Theatre.
The lucky pupils attended technical and dress rehearsals to understand the development, dance technique and technical requirements for a show.
Mr Heaslip said: “We welcomed the two
schools along to get a taste of how a contemporary dance show comes together.
“It was an excellent experience for pupils to understand the dance technique and technical requirements involved.”
St. Ninian’s PE teacher Marie-Claire Martin said: “Our pupils were delighted to win the dance masterclass. More than 100 of our students attended the performance and were really inspired.
“We have an extremely well attended after-school dance club and pupils sitting national qualifications in dance had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and experiences of contemporary dance.”
