A BARRHEAD pub has been thanked for its long-lasting generosity after raising another £1,000 for a Renfrewshire hospice.

The Brig Inn, in Cross Arthurlie Street, has been supporting ACCORD Hospice ,

in Paisley, for 27 years and the latest cheque presentation takes its total donations to £29,000.

The money was handed over at the pub’s annual pensioners’ lunch.

David McFadden received the cheque on behalf of the hospice and outlined the work of ACCORD to meet the needs of people across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire.

He added: “The Brig Inn has supported us for many years and we are very grateful to staff and customers for supporting us for so long.

“This dedication is a wonderful example of the support local businesses can provide the hospice with.”

Staff at the pub also praised the generosity of customers.

Posting on social media, they said: “A big thank-you to all our fantastic customers for helping raise another £1,000 for ACCORD Hospice.

“We really appreciate your generosity.”
