A PRISONER who absconded from an open jail has been traced by police in Renfrewshire.
Anthony McGinley, 33, was found in the Paisley area after he failed to return to HMP Castle Huntly, near Dundee, following a period of home leave.
Officers had launched an appeal for information on his whereabouts but have today confirmed that he is back in custody.
A spokesperson said: "Police Scotland can confirm that absconder Andrew McGinley, missing from HMP Castle Huntly, has been traced in the Paisley area.
"We would like to thank the public for their vigilance and assistance."
