THE countdown is on to the biggest night of the year for East Renfrewshire businesses.

The 2018 East Renfrewshire Business Awards will take place in June, with nominations now open.

Companies are being urged to apply, with the aim of promoting their business and celebrating the hard work of unsung heroes across the region.

The awards, which are hosted by East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, attract high-profile industry support and this year is no different, with Taylor Wimpey West Scotland named as principal sponsor for the second year.

It is also an exciting year for the company locally as it undertakes its own business projects in East Renfrewshire.

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We’re delighted to once again continue our support of the East Renfrewshire Business Awards as this year’s principal sponsor and as sponsor of the Developing East Renfrewshire’s Young Persons Workforce Award.

“This sponsorship is a great opportunity for us to strengthen our links with the East Renfrewshire business community and we’re very happy to be involved.

“We are fully committed to delivering three developments of new homes across the local area which will offer an impressive range of new homes, making this an exciting time for our business in the East Renfrewshire area.”

Judges this year are looking for inspiring examples of good practice that illustrates the talent on show in businesses in the area.

With a number of categories covering all sizes of business, the ceremony is open to all in East Renfrewshire.

Businesses have until 5pm on Thursday, March 15, to submit their applications for any of the eight categories.

The winners will be announced at a black tie awards ceremony at the Busby Hotel on Thursday, June 7, with STV presenter Jennifer Reoch in charge of proceedings as event host.
