AN East Renfrewshire woman has been named Scotland’s best babysitter after a public vote.
Shabeena Hussain, who runs Littleseedlings Childminding, in Giffnock, was selected from nearly 300,000 entrants for the title of Best in Scotland.
Richard Conway, founder of competition organisers Childcare.co.uk, said: “Shabeena seems like a very deserving winner. She obviously goes above and beyond for the children she takes care of and is a true asset to the parents.
“I hope Shabeena takes full advantage of the crown she now wears and I’d be interested to see if it generates some more wonderful families for her to work with.”
Shabeena, who raised four children of her own, as well as having experience as a foster parent and childminder, was lauded for the babysitting service she provides.
As well as her reliability and dependability, she was commended for her “fantastic manner” with the children.
Mr Conway added: “Babysitting is an often overlooked childcare service, which is unfortunate considering how needed they are in society.
“I bet every family has needed one at some point.
“This is why we wanted to celebrate the great work they do”
