A BARRHEAD wedding videographer is in with a chance of being named the best man in his industry.

TRMedia Wedding Videos, founded by Tony Reilly, is one of just 10 production companies to make the final cut in the Videographer of the Year category at this year’s Confetti Awards.

The business was put forward for the accolade by a number of happy couples who paid for its services on their special day.

And, having previously been named a winner at the Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier (VOWS) Awards, 44-year-old Tony is pleased his work continues to receive praise.

He said: “It’s good just to get into these sorts of things and it’s good for business as well, but winning is a bonus.

“With the videographer category, they look at your website and make the final call on that, your prices and how good your reviews are.

“It would be nice to win but it’s also good just to get the nominations.”

Tony’s job sees him travel all over Scotland and he counts Arran, Glenfinnan, the Isle of Bute and Loch Lomond as regular workplaces.

Things might have turned out differently for Tony, however, had he not opted to change career path 18 years ago.

He explained: “I was an engineer but I hated getting up at 4am.

“Videography was a hobby, really. I used to do it at family parties, birthdays, Christenings. I then started to go to weddings and I went full-time in 2000. It beats digging holes in the roads.”

The annual Confetti Awards celebrate the best of the Scottish wedding industry. Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow, on Sunday.
