WALLNEUK North Church was awash with colour as members of a Paisley quilting group staged their annual display.

The Paisley Quilters combined their show with a Christmas fair which attracted a varied crowd, from creative types to shoppers and families.

There was a selection of home-made and hand-crafted gifts to buy, as well as sweet treats and a bottle stall.

A tearoom also proved to be popular, with guests enjoying the chance to have a chat over cakes and a hot drink.

Talented members hung up examples of their work at the church to showcase what they have been working on all year.

Audrey Hamilton, of the Paisley Quilters, said: “It was a fantastic day.

“We also collected a number of quilts, blankets and hats that will be getting donated to the children’s department at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, here in Paisley, and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow.

“Also included on the day was a big raffle, with all of the funds raised from that going to the church and a chosen charity.

“As well as people coming to see the quilts, there were also others who went along to browse the stalls, so there was something for everyone.”

The Paisley Quilters meet at Wallneuk North Church, in Abercorn Street, on the first Monday of each month, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

They also run occasional sewing clubs and invite speakers along to address their meetings throughout the year.
