A Barrhead clothes store’s autumn-winter collection caught the eye of famous fashion guru Gok Wan.

Staff at Moda Dea, in Cross Arthurlie Street, were invited to showcase their new range on a catwalk at the Fashion Brunch Club.

The event, staged at Glasgow’s Village Hotel, was a chance for the team to impress Gok, who is best known for his Channel 4 show How to Look Good Naked.

Harriet Hannah, store manager at Moda Dea, was delighted that the store played a part of the fashion show.

She said: “It was a really good event and Gok Wan was excellent as a compere and host for the question-and-answer session with the audience.

“We had eight outfits on stage, including a mix of casual, mum-of-the-bride and cocktail, plus accessories.”

Moda Dea has earned a glowing reputation for its collection of evening wear and an accommodating range of sizes, from eight up to 26.

Harriet added: “While the majority of our styles cater to those aged in their 40s and over, the clothes looked fantastic on the younger catwalk models.

“There was great feedback and we think we appealed to a mixed range in the audience.

“Organisers researched the business before getting us involved and saw that we had great reviews from customers.”
