A MAN was arrested after £10,000 worth of drugs were allegedly recovered from a house in Barrhead.

The 25-year-old suspect was detained following a police raid on a property in the town’s Dougray Place last Friday.

It is alleged the man was found to be in possession of an illegal substance, thought to be cocaine.

Police said he was expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court this week.

In a separate incident, a 24-year-old man has been charged with being in possession of cannabis in Barrhead.

He was arrested at an address in Victoria Avenue at 11.30pm on Saturday.

Police have said cash was also seized from the property under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal in connection with this incident.
