Bosses at an East Renfrewshire shopping mall are offering kids a dream job - testing out toys in the run-up to Christmas.

At least two youngsters, aged between five and 10, will get the chance to try out the latest games and gadgets before providing feedback.

The ‘Little Experts’ scheme is being organised by The Avenue shopping centre, in Newton Mearns, as part of an effort to help mums and dads choose which gifts Santa should deliver to their children this festive season.

Those selected for the special roles will be filmed talking about the products in their own words, explaining how they work and what they like about them.

Finally, the Little Experts will give each item a rating to offer mums, dads and grandparents a steer on what might be a good idea for their little one over the festive period.

And, each week, the mall will sprinkle some Christmas cheer by giving away a Little Experts-tested toy, game or product to shoppers.

Michelle McCabe, manager at The Avenue, said: “Following the launch of the Kids Club back in July, we have been looking for ways to make shopping with us easier for families – and Little Experts will do just that.

“Parents will be able to hear straight from the kids all about the latest toys and hopefully make the decision of what to buy their own little ones a bit easier over what can be quite a stressful and busy time for mum and dad.

“Our Little Experts will try the latest gadgets, games and toys from the stores in The Avenue and we will film them giving them a try and letting us know exactly what they think of them.

“These videos and reviews will be uploaded to our social media pages each week and we will be giving customers the opportunity to win great prizes as well.”

To put your child forward for the role, visit the Facebook page @AvenueShoppingCentre or email contactus@avenueshopping.co.uk, telling mall bosses why your youngster should be chosen as a Little Expert.
