SEVERAL flights from Glasgow Airport have been cancelled today as the remants of Hurricane Ophelia head for the UK.
Aer Lingus flights to Dublin, Donegal and Cork have been pulled while some Ryanair services to Stansted, Frankfurt and Warsaw will also not run.
Met Eireann issued a red wind warning for the Republic of Ireland while the Met Office said an amber warning for Northern Ireland, west Wales, south west Scotland and the Isle of Man would be in force from midday.
Ophelia is on its way from the Azores in the Atlantic Ocean and it comes 30 years after the UK's Great Storm of 1987.
A spokesman for Glasgow Aiport said: "We are open and operating as normal but some flights have been cancelled due to Ophelia and we expect more disruption later today.
