A RANGERS fan who was jailed for posting a bullet-riddled picture of Neil Lennon on Facebook was back in the dock this week.

David Craig, of Divernia Way, Barrhead, was caged in 2012 for posting the sick image of the then Celtic manager, which was captioned with the words “dead man walking” and “Neil Lennon dead man!!!!!! UVF1.”

The 29-year-old was also given a football banning order for the offence, preventing him from going to any ground in the UK for three years.

But he flouted the punishment and was caught after going to see Rangers play Raith Rovers at Ibrox in October 2014.

Fantasist Craig, who also hijacked memorials for the Glasgow bin lorry crash, Clutha disaster victims and tragic student Karen Buckley, was placed on a Community Payback Order, requiring him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work, for breaching the football banning order.

And Craig appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court this week for a progress review.

After learning that Craig had failed to fully comply with the Community Payback Order, Sheriff David Pender warned him to buck up his ideas .

Defence solicitor Terry Gallanagh told the court: “He is perhaps stumbling over the finishing line of this Order.”

However, Sheriff Pender replied: “That’s flattering. He’s not even as fast as that.

“I will continue the case for six weeks. I expect all the hours to be completed by then.”

Craig, who has still to complete 28 hours of unpaid work, then put his baseball cap on as he left the dock, prompting a court official to shout: “Take your cap off, take your cap off.”

Following his release from custody over the Neil Lennon abuse, Craig moved to Belfast but later returned to Scotland, moving back to Barrhead.

In April 2015, he pushed his way to the front of hundreds of people in Glasgow’s George Square at a gathering in memory of murdered Irish student Karen Buckley.

He then boasted on Facebook that he had cuddled her dad John and brother Kieran.
