CELTIC have been handed a Champions League boost after Rosenborg star Tore Reginiussen lost his fitness battle to face the Hoops.
Brendan Rodgers’ side travel to Norway today for the second leg of the third qualifying round tie in Trondheim.
Rosenborg claimed an admirable 0-0 draw in Glasgow in the first leg.
But their task has been made harder by the absence of experienced Norwegian international defender Reginiussen, who has failed to recover from a thigh injury picked up in the first leg.
Rosenborg physio Christian Thorbjornsen said: “He won’t be out for too long, but the game on Wednesday has come too fast for Tore.”
However, Rosenborg may be able to call on the services of another Norway international, winger Pal Andre Helland, who has been out for three weeks, but could make his return against the Scottish champions.
Thorbjornsen said: “He is in good shape physically and could be ready to play against Celtic.”
