LOLLIPOP men and women are needed across a number of East Renfrewshire schools.

The local authority is recruiting for "school crossing patrollers" to fill several posts.

Schools which currently require lollipop men and women are: Carolside Primary, Clarkston; Eaglesham Primary; Busby Primary; Kirkhill Primary, Newton Mearns; and Thornliebank Primary.

Councillor Paul O’Kane, convener for education and equalities, said: "Being a school crossing patroller is such a rewarding and flexible role.

"We are looking for people across East Renfrewshire to join our team and help our children get to and from school safely."

Applicants can be of any age and each role will last 10 hours-per-week during term time.

The posts operate morning hours of 8.30am to 9.15am and afternoon hours of 2.40pm to 3.55pm.
