Tom Rogic finished the season on a high with his goal that won Celtic the Treble and the Australian appears to have maintained a bit of form at the Confederations Cup where he scored another fine goal against Germany.

While the bulk of Celtic players are back and reporting for pre-season duty, Rogic is still on and in many ways he might actually come back further on in fitness levels than the rest.

He will certainly come back as a player full of confidence.

Given the fact that he missed a huge chunk of the season with injury, it will actually have done him good to keep playing on and he should be able to cope with that alright given that he wasn’t exposed to the same number of games that the rest were last season.

Celtic jet out to Austria on Monday as they embark on their pre-season camp and it will be to their benefit that there is not a lot of travelling and it is relatively low-key as they gear up for a crack at the Champions League again this season.

I have said it again and again, but these games underpin the entirety of the season. Getting into the group stages sets the narrative for the campaign and gives everyone a massive lift.

The thing with Rodgers is that there is a trust in him, an assurance that he will get the club through the qualifiers and back into an environment where many feel that Celtic belong.
