NEILSTON residents will soon learn whether or not a historic site is to be used for housing.
The village’s community council is set to discuss plans for Pig Square at a meeting next week.
Last month, the Barrhead News told how tests had been carried out on land at Kirkstyle Lane – known locally as Pig Square – as Barrhead Housing Association was considering transforming the area into a residential development.
Neilston Community Council is now encouraging villagers to attend the meeting on Tuesday night to hear more about the proposals and to share their views.
Anyone with historical information regarding the past uses of the site, or suggestions as to alternative future uses, is asked to attend the meeting at the Glen Halls, which starts at 7pm.
