ONE of Britain’s footballing heroes paid tribute to Barrhead schoolchildren 10 years ago.
Kevin Keegan – twice named European footballer of the year – reckoned St Mark’s Primary kids were on the ball.
And the former England and Newcastle manager said every child should follow their example and have some fun.
Keegan was speaking after the youngsters experienced the world’s first fully interactive football attraction called Soccer Circus.
He said: “Seeing the children from St Mark’s school benefit from the Soccer Circus experience was just fantastic.”
“Soccer Circus is an exceptional facility and the perfect destination for improving fitness and coordination, team building and – most importantly – having fun.”
The 20 pupils were accompanied by teachers from St Mark’s Primary during the visit to the facility at Xscape, Braehead.
Aged between 11 and 12, they all had plenty to get on with as they took part in a series of football challenges.
