THE Scottish SPCA is appealing to animal lovers in Barrhead and East Renfrewshire to help raise funds for abused, abandoned and injured pets in Scotland.

The call comes as part of the charity’s Rehoming Week, with volunteers needed for organised street collections from May 8 to 14, Anna O’Donnell, Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre Manager, said: “Last year our centre took in and found loving new homes for 1,210 neglected, mistreated and unwanted pets and 2017 is proving to be just as challenging.

“Door-to-door fundraising can be carried out between the Monday and Friday of Rehoming Week, while people can hold street collections in their local communities on the Saturday.

“Even if someone can only spare an hour or two, their time and efforts would be hugely appreciated.”
