A FRIENDLY party invitation ended with a man in the dock for his drunken behaviour.

Last Wednesday, John McMahon admitted repeatedly kicking a door in Alloa's Whins Road on October 3, 2016.

Fiscal depute Matthew Kerr told the town's Justice of the Peace Court that the complainer was wakened in the early hours by her partner's mobile phone ringing.

She then heard knocking at the front door, but ignored it as she thought the unwanted visitor would go away. When they didn't and the noise continued, the police were called.

When officers arrived, they found McMahon kicking the door. He ran off and was not traced until later in the month.

Mr Kerr claimed that the accused caused £200 worth of damage to the council door.

Defending, Mr McFarlane explained that his client was friends with the occupier of the house and had been invited over earlier for a party. However, the accused rocked up drunk and too late.

Mr McFarlane said: "Unsurprisingly there was no answer from his friend."

McMahon, 27, subsequently apologised for his actions.

Justice Stuart Fair told McMahon, of Ashley Terrace in Alloa, that banging on a door so early in the morning and the subsequent vandalism was "totally unacceptable".

He fined the accused £150 in addition to making a £200 compensation order to repay Clackmannanshire Council.
