The 27-year-old was punched and kicked by the attackers close to Rumours bar on Cross Arthurlie Street on Easter Sunday.
Although the victim was not thought to have been inside the pub, his attackers – who are believed to be aged between 30 and 60 years old – launched the assault close to its entrance.
The man was not seriously hurt in the incident, which took place at 12.45am.
Sergeant Michael Morganthaler, who is based at Giffnock Police Station, said: “A 27-year-old male was assaulted by a group of around nine men aged between 30 and 60 years old at 12.45am on Sunday, April 16.
“Fortunately, he didn’t sustain any significant injuries, however, police are keen to speak to any persons who may have witnessed this incident.
