BARRHEAD residents and businesses are being urged to help make the town a safer place to live and work.

Bosses at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have launched a consultation on the area’s fire and rescue plan.

The views of all those who respond will be taken into account before the final plan is published.

David Proctor, Local Senior Officer for the SFRS, said: “While we have a good overall knowledge of local needs through our routine community engagement as part of our daily activities, it is still an important part of our community engagement strategy to enable those representing the public to offer their views and valuable contribution to shaping the final local plan.

“We have received helpful input to date and have taken account of that in our draft, which is out to consultation, and welcome further comments from our partners and members of our communities on the proposals.”

Members of the public have until June 26 to let SFRS know what they think of the plan.
