JUST messing around hit new proportions on Saturday when more than 30 excited youngsters descended on Barrhead Scout Hall for a Disney-themed extravaganza.

Children aged from six months to pre-school rolled up their sleeves and enjoyed being able to make as much mess as possible, without having to worry about getting into trouble from the grown-ups.

And, as our photographs show, the kids had a ball as they plastered themselves in goo – all of it non-toxic and edible.

The fun sessions for the Barrhead Mini Messies are organised by Aisha and Lewis Pollock, whose children – one-year-old Arla and three-year-old Albie – were among those who went along to join in the latest event.

Aisha said: “Mini Messies are held once a month and, very often, older siblings come along to help out.

“Saturday’s event had a Disney theme.”

For more information about the sessions, call Aisha on 0743 236 9430. Alternatively, send an email to mini messies@hotmail.com or check out the group’s Facebook page.

Older children in the Barrhead area are also welcome to find out more about their local Scout groups.

Regular sessions are held for Cubs, Beavers, Scouts and Explorers.
