A SCHOOLBOY was attacked by three men in a Barrhead park.

The 15-year-old was chased through the town’s Carlibar Park before being hit across the face with what police say is an “unknown object”.

The identities of the suspects, who left the teenager’s face bruised, remain unknown.

Officers are appealing to the public for help with their inquiries into the attack, which took place late last Friday night.

Sergeant Michael Morganthaler, who is based at Giffnock Police Office, said: “At 10pm on Friday, February 17 an incident occurred in Carlibar Park whereby a 15-year-old male was chased by a group of three males.

“The 15-year-old boy was subsequently struck in the face with an unknown object.

“There are no descriptions of the suspects other than they were three adult males.

“We’re continuing to make inquiries into this and we’d welcome any information from any members of the public who were in the vicinity at this time and may have witnessed the incident.”
