NEILSTON Primary welcomed two special visitors just before the holidays in December 2006.

Westminster MP Jim Murphy and his colleague from the Scottish Parliament, Ken MacIntosh, dropped in to see the products of the youngsters’ hard work before Christmas.

They were delighted to see the school’s Christmas card which had been designed by pupil Nicola Connor, as well as other examples of the creative skills on show.

It was a busy time for the school and Highlights of 2006 included a charity football match for two village churchmen and P7’s visit to a ship launch on the Clyde where several pupils spoke to Princess Sophie.

Special events lined up for January 2007 included: ‘The Big Hush’ in aid of cancer and National Storytelling Week.
