A TWO-CAR crash brought Barrhead Main Street to a standstill this morning.
Traffic was tailed back in both directions following the incident, which took place at around 10.30am close to Barrhead Foundry.
No-one is thought to have been seriously hurt during the accident.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, however, an image posted on social media shows one of the vehicles on top of the road's central reservation.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At 10.30am this morning, police were called to a report of a two-car road crash on Main Street in Barrhead.
"Emergency services attended a road accident involving a Hyundai and a Nissan. Neither driver was seriously injured and no-one was taken to hospital."
The News understands the road has now been cleared.
