A LADIES garden party held in Barrhead raised over £4,000 for Macmillan Cancer Research.
Teresa O’Hara welcomed more than 80 women of varying ages to her house for the day on September 10 for a charity auction and raffle.
East Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau manager was delighted with the £4,065 her friends and family members helped to generate.
The final total was helped considerably by an auction for a wedding dress, provided free of charge by the town’s Wedding Wise store, which was bought for £1,050.
The event was inspired by friends and family who have had to deal with battling the potentially deadly disease in all of its forms.
Macmillan Cancer Research have contacted Teresa and the rest of the organisers to pass on their thanks at what they described as an “overwhelming” donation.
