FURTHER road works are expected in the area as Scottish Water's major works continue.

Road users in the Nitshill and Barrhead area are being advised of some road traffic management while Scottish Water progresses with major investment in its water network.

Part of the work includes the laying of a new water main and the construction of a new pumping station at the Gorbals Water Treatment Works in Darnley.

To carry out this work, they need to install a new underground power supply cable which will follow a four-mile route from Crookston to Darnley.

This will, in turn, require road traffic management on the A736 at the junction of Hurlet Road, Barrhead Road, Nitshill Road and Glasgow Road from Monday, October 24 for about three weeks.

In addition, contractors will have temporary traffic lights on the A77 just north of Cairn Road, Loganswell for work that also forms part of this project.

This road traffic management will also start on October 24 and is expected to be required for about three weeks.
