THERE'S something fishy going on in Luss.

The picturesque village unveiled its newest restaurant - Luss Seafood Bar - to a glowing reception.

Invited guests, which included MSPs Jackie Baillie and Maurice Corry and The Tower's Brian Keating to name just a few, joined Sir Malcolm and Lady Colquhoun at the official opening on the bonnie banks on Friday, May 27.

Nestled within Luss General Store, mouthwatering dishes meet exceptional service as the seafood bar serves up a selection Scottish seafood alongside fresh seasonal produce.

And the team are hoping locals and visitors will be hooked not only on the quality of the produce but the warm welcome from staff.

Iain Hamilton, general manager at the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel, is over the moon at the success of the launch and is excited to celebrate the best of Scotland's larder - particularly the produce found right on his doorstep.

"We are delighted to have opened Luss Seafood Bar to such a great reception from locals and visitors," he told the Advertiser.

"Luss Seafood Bar champions fresh Scottish seafood presented in a simple and delicious way and we are thrilled that our guests love the menu as much as we do."

Iain is also pleased that the restaurant also brings an employment boost to the area, adding: "Luss Seafood Bar also provides employment in the village, crucial to attracting and retaining young families in the area."

Boasting a fresh, sleek interior the restaurant, complete with hand-blocked Spice Routes wallpaper created by artist Ursula Hunter at Little Axe and an outdoor seating area, brings a relaxed and informal dining experience to Luss.

The menu features beech smoked salmon produced in the village by Luss Smokehouse, while the wine list is selected by expert Matthew Jukes to accompany the seafood, as well as a handful of Scottish gins.

All fish from the village's smokehouse, which is just a stones throw from the restaurant, uses produce sourced from across Luss Estate and there is a real sense of honour in serving up a true taste of the vibrant flavours Loch Lomond and the Trossachs has to offer.
