THIS is the moment an ex-royal marine commando found an abandoned puppy in an Iraqi oilfield.
Alex Cairnie from Neilston discovered the tiny white dog starving and covered in hardened glue underneath a shipping container near Basrah.
The pooch, who is thought to be about seven weeks old, had ears filled with tics and she was covered in cuts and open wounds.
She was starving and close to death in 45 degree heat when she was found cowering underneath a shipping container.
He is now battling to bring her back to Neilston.
A campaign to fund this has already raised close to £5,000.
