SEVERAL people have been reported following an operation in Paisley to clamp down in the supply of drugs.

Police say they searched 10 properties in the Ferguslie Park area of the town as part of the two day intelligence-led operation.

Drugs, believed to be heroin, cocaine, cannabis and diazapam, worth an estimated street value of £1,300 were seized during the operation on Wednesday and Thursday, May 11 and 12.

Eleven men aged between 22 and 51 years, and a woman (53) will all be subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with alleged drugs offences.

A 37-year-old man will also be reported in connection with the Electricity Act.

Detective Inspector Suzie Chow, based at Paisley CID, said: “We have teams of dedicated officers working in our communities every day, executing warrants and targeting drug dealers.

"These latest seizures and arrests demonstrate that we will continue to act on information and pursue those involved in any form of drug dealing which causes misery and damage to our communities."

The two day operation kicked off a two-month long multi agency action plan and during this time, officers working in the Ferguslie Park area, will be on hand to provide regular advice and guidance to local residents around specific issues such as personal safety.

They will also look at internet safety, antisocial behaviour and water safety.

If you have information about drug activity in your area please contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given in confidence.
