Margaret Burgess helped Barrhead Housing Association to launch its Modern Apprenticeship drive.
She was joined by the association’s newly-appointed trainee David Adam who began his first week by taking part in the national campaign to raise awareness of modern apprentices.
David, who became the third trainee to begin working with the organisation, will gain a qualification in housing once he completes the year-long traineeship.
He said: “Apprenticeships are a great way to start a career as they provide learning on the job and you are able to put theory into practice.
“I’ve just start my apprenticeship but already it feels very promising. After I complete my Level 2 in housing, I would like to carry on with further courses.”
