A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Newton Mearns.

The body of Xin Xin Liu, 39, was found at a house in Beech Avenue at around 11.55pm on Tuesday after emergency services were called to the scene.

Mrs Liu was pronounced dead at the property which was cordoned off as part of a forensic investigation.
